Description
Miscanthus 'Navajo'®
Compact, elegant and colorful. Miscanthus Navajo.
This endearing and charming Japanese ornamental cane was awarded the silver medal at the Plantarium in 2015.
The olive green pagoda-like overhanging leaves are colouring to reddish hues already early in the season.
The coloration of the leaves varies from somewhat cooler, more purple-red hues in the spring to softer and warmer more orange and brown-red hues in the summer. As the season progresses, the hues become brighter and sometimes deeper into flaming red in the fall.
The flowering time is from September to December. The bloom is suitable in shades of initially brown-red and depending on the circumstances, higher or lower above the leaf wig
The hardy Navajo ornamental grass remains modest in size and is therefore particularly suitable for the small garden. It is also a beautiful plant for the pot on a balcony or terrace. The height in the pot is 50-70 cm. In the open ground, Navajo becomes somewhat higher 1.00 - 1.20 m.
Medal: Silver Plantarium 2015
Jury verdict: Intense colored leaves; healthy, strong plants in a very neat presentation
